Drone News

Knowledge is power and increases our understanding.

Take a minute to educate yourself on drones and FAA rules in the United States. The more you know about drones, the better you will understand the importance of hiring a knowledgeable pilot (RPIC) and the costs associated with including drone footage in your project. First and foremost, let us say that when done correctly with proper planning, aerial footage can be an amazing addition to your project providing a perspective that can’t quite be explained with words. Most think of drones as the little toys that kids play with but, has a camera on it. On a simplistic level, this view has a small level of truth to it, however, the power and speed of professional entry-level drones capable of filming at 4k quality and containing on-board guidance systems, are far from toys. They can result in serious bodily injury due to propellers traveling at very destructive speeds which often will be increased by flying movement. In addition, the damage that can be done to a residence, vehicle or pet can be extremely costly. For these reasons, operation of a drone outside of hobby or recreational purposes should be left to certified professionals.

Why Does it cost so much!

The cost of hiring a drone pilot (RPIC) may seem a little steep but, when you factor in the cost of the equipment, experience, flight preparation and the processing of the footage (4K) you will quickly realize that you are actually getting a lot of bang for your buck. If you find yourself saying “WHAT? That’s crazy!” Consider that if you had to purchase the equipment, spend months with flight training, spend time studying to pass the FAA exam, purchase computer equipment, purchase software to process 4K video and then find time to learn to edit, you would spend $2,500.00 to $5,000 (depending on the equipment you Use) just to be able to do the job. Now factor in how much your time is worth that you will spend becoming proficient with all those components. Can we agree that it would not compare to what your Aerial service provider is asking. Not even close!!

I will just get cousin Larry to do it. He has a drone.

Our job as RPIC’s and drone service providers (ABHS air) is to make it seem like even cousin Larry ( sorry if your name is Larry…) could do it. No offense to cousin Larry but, he in most cases can not come close to providing the quality and onsite professionalism that should be expected/ should be demanded. ultimately it is up to you. Give your project what it deserves. Give your pocket what it deserves (RPIC vs potential damage, injury and just plain ole bad footage) Your friends and family will judge you on the final product you present to them. As a member of your team we will not let them say bad things about us because we (ABHS air) will ensure that you have the best possible result and quality. At the end of the day, It will be ABHS air’s reputation that will be on the line. However, again, ultimately it is your choice. We are confident that you are very much like us in that quality is not just something that someone else has, its your requirement!!

Ultimately the level of quality is your choice.

Below you will find material that we have found to be very helpful and may increase your knowledge and appreciation for drones. At a minimum we hope that it encourages you to one day say “ABHS air was very professional and did a phenomenal job. YES I would recommend them!” LOL… If you have taken the time to read this far, it means you are serious about incorporating aerial footage in your project. Contact us today. We look forward to meeting you and ultimately making you look and feel like a hero to those that care about you most.
